What you will find in Gondar is one of the most outstanding monuments found in the horn of Africa: 12 medieval palace-fortress built in a unique style rich of Indian and European influences, that hosted 150 years of an elegant and sophisticated court, ruling all the northern region of the country. It almost looks like a piece of medieval Europe placed in the earth of Africa, and enriched by a unique masterpiece of the unique “Gondarian” painting style: the church of Haile Brehan Sellassie.
