Cradle of the Christian Orthodox tradition and of the Solomonic royal dynasty, Aksum is an essential destination for those interested in archaeology and ancient history. The Stelae park is an outstanding archaeological site, and, being the capital of the Orthodox tradition, the city is an especially colourful destination in occasion of the main festivities of the Ethiopian Church.

WEATHER: The rainy season in the north is from June to mid-September. Nevertheless, is possible to visit Aksum all the yearlong, since during the rainy season precipitations are intense but shorts and most of the times happening in the afternoon-evening, so they don’t use to affect the program.
