Simien National park is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a must-see destination not only for those people interested in nature and endemic species, but also for those travellers and trekkers wishing to enjoy some of the most magnificent landscapes in the horn of Africa. It is possible to visit the main spots of the park on a “drive and walk” basis, but you can also go trekking for several days reaching amazing peaks and fully enjoying the diversity of the region.
ACCOMODATION STANDARD: High quality lodges are present in the park, but with scarce room availability. Medium and low range hotels are usually available. Very interesting camping experiences are the base of the trekking programs.
WEATHER: The rainy season in the north is from June to mid-September and during that time trekking programs are not advised, and day trip may be frustrating because of the fog. In the good season temperatures range between 2º in the night to a maximum of 20º in the daytime.
