An amazing variety of landscapes and one of the most interesting wildlife spotting experiences in Ethiopia. Rated by the African Bird Club as the number four birding site in Africa, Bale mountain National park it’s a dream destination for nature lovers, offering a wholesome experience both to active trekkers and to comfort tourist on driving tours, with the extra privilege of being less visited than Simien Mountain National Park.
ACCOMODATION STANDARD: The accommodation offer has a dramatic gap; only low level hotel are available in Goba, while a high luxury and exclusive lodge in an amazing corner of Harenna forest is one of the best hotels in Ethiopia.
Camping is a very good option to enjoy a wholesome experience of the park.
WEATHER: The minor rainy season starts in April and the major rains are from June to October, but due to the high altitude of the region rain may appear year round, but without affecting the program. But during the rainy season rain and fog can often significantly affect the viewing experience, and camping programs should be avoided.
Temperatures on the plateaux range between -5º at night to a maximum of 20º in the daytime.
Temperatures in the lowlands range between 2º at night to a maximum of 25º in the daytime.
